About Us

It was in the summer of 1946 that at an inaugural meeting took place at County Hall, Ipswich, which saw the birth of competitive Netball in Suffolk.

By the following year, teams such as Cowells, Cranes, Turners, Ransomes, Co-operative Athletic Club and the Mulberry Tree Youth Club had joined up to play in a summer league.  Following trials in November 1947, the first county team was selected.

As the years rolled by the structure became stronger and by 1952, the annual meeting was told that the county had a balance of income over expenditure of around £6!

Uniform was cream aertex shirts and tan skirts.  The badge featured Wolsey’s Gate and was worn on the skirts.  The first set of tracksuits was purchased in 1953.

A winter league was started in 1957.
